A fun alternative to quick write and flashcards at the start of your phonic sessions.

These games have no prep at all, just print and play. Players start anywhere on the outside board. Roll the dice and move that many spaces, then work out which sound is in the picture. Colour the correct sound in the players chosen colour. Either play until all the sounds are coloured or until one player gets five in a row. Single player can try to get five in a row.

These videos can be used in two ways: Reading activity: simply play the video and get pupils to say the sounds and blend them together to make the word. Option to pause if your pupils need more time to blend. Writing activity: play the video and pause it when it stops on a picture. Pupils then can write the word. Once they have written it continue to play the video and pupils can check if they have written it correctly.
